The building proposed blends in as a unit volume in the present hospital complex. Interaction between the new edifice and existing buildings creates a coherent entity giving a fresh identity to the site as a whole. The plinth now reunites the two outstanding sections of the building. The desire to harmonize the complex is also implemented by using a unique architectural language, notably on the facades. Existing bands running along the plinth and pavilion are revived and reinterpreted. The result is an open and intensively planted green roof area on top of the lower floor which interacts optimally with the surrounding landscaped spaces. Vegetation on the ground- and 4th floors unifies the building as a whole and gives its various floors a more intimate feeling.
